Striker x Kadie Puppies Week 8

Posted on April 15, 2009

Hooray for the 8 week milestone of our Striker x Kadie litter, our little Starry Nights are growing up!

The puppies are all doing great and I know that everyone is anxious to hear which puppy will be theirs. We are working very hard to make decisions and think that everyone will be very happy. We will have final show picks determined on Saturday. Personality in this litter is really quite uniform, more so than in other litters we have had. There is certainly no bad puppy in the bunch and we know they are all going to do great in their new homes.

Before you come to pick up your puppy please make sure to purchase a bag of the Pro Plan Performance dog food. Sometimes people say they can’t find it and if that is the case you can purchase a bag from us when you pick your puppy up. We strongly recommend feeding out at least one bag of the food that your puppy is already used to since the transition process is already stressful it is not the best time to switch foods on top of it.

The puppies visited the Veterinarian this week and all received good health certificates and their first set of shots. A problem with the scale at the Vets office had us shuffling puppies around a little more than we would have hoped in order to re-weigh them, but this was a very minor issue. All the puppies did great at the appointment and the only problem was making sure we left with everyone we came with since everyone was understandably in love!

This week has already started as a crazy one and the craziness of it just keeps building. It’s good crazy though, just very busy. To give you an idea of what is going on here we have puppies starting to leave since they are now 8 weeks old. Kadie’s co-owner is coming up this weekend to view the puppies and bring hers home. Kadie will also be returning to NC, she’s a snow bird after all. We also have another breeder bringing down a lovely French Canadian girl for Striker this weekend. We de-winterized the RV and are working on re-packing for the show season coming up. Also, the kennel is busy for April vacation which starts this weekend. So, it is no surprise that I am a little behind in my email and other work.

I was able to take some fun photos of the puppies running around outside. Unfortunately the weather has not cooperated with us as much as we would have liked with this litter, but they certainly have a great time when they are out. I haven’t had a chance to process them, but have posted the sooc shots for now. There are many photos in the gallery this week. I am working on a photo video set to our theme’s music which I hope to have up in the next couple days.
