Striker x Kadie Puppies Week 4
It’s been a big week for our 12 Starry Nights. The week started off with a move from the master bedroom to the dining room in preparation for our first visitors to see the puppies. Visits went very well and we hope that everyone had as much fun as we did. Visitors will continue to see the puppies all the way up until they leave for their new homes.

Another big event this week was starting the puppies on their mush meals. We start with just one mushing a day until the puppies start to get a hang of what is going on. Eating from a dish is much different than nursing. During the transition the puppies continue to nurse until they are completely weened which is usually two weeks later. Mushing is very, very messy. The puppies get it everywhere including all over themselves, especially at the beginning.
The puppies teeth are really starting to come in, as noticed by some of our visitors. Nimue doesn’t mind though, she loves the puppies like they’re her own.
We also did another portrait session with the puppies. These photos sessions serve dual purposes. First, it gives us great little mementos to pass along to the new puppy buyers and remind them of the different growth stages. Second, with each session we take the puppies to a different location and expose them to different surroundings, noises, and experiences that help in their development. For this session, since they had such a busy week we did the puppies two at a time instead of individually in order to prevent overwhelming them. This also made for some really cute couple shots.
There are many, many more photos in the litter photo gallery including more mush photos and additional portraits of each puppy. You can see updated weights on the 2009 Striker x Kadie litter page.

I absolutely love these pictures, it is amazing at 4 weeks how much personality and playfulness they have, Nimue is the coolest, she is just having loads of fun and entertaining the puppies! I look forward to seeing the pictures from the portrait session, I enjoyed the ones from last year, they were beautiful!
One more thing, an inquiring mind wants to know who does mush clean-up after 12 hungry Airedale puppies??? Kadie or you, or maybe even Nimue? LOL!
